They decided they were ok playing early so they could play at MSG. They had to mess with their conference schedule and make teams play 3 games in 10 days on ocassionaly too.
I think the best idea is finishing on Saturday.

They already said that was a mistake
I like the conf tournament where it is though. If we moved it up, that would be some long breaks before NCAAT. Big10 is going basically 2 weeks without a game

Once you start going too long without a game though you run into problems. Look at Mizzou who'd go over a week without a game before the NCAAT
Sunday to Thursday/Friday is plenty of time to rest. That's only for those that make it to Sunday

Finishing today would be ideal though. Back the tourney up one day and have the final Sat night in prime time.
