It's the most idiotic rule of all time
And it's pretty much the same rule in many other sports.

Did any of the Minnesota players come off the bench?

Like I said, Sexton was nuts. I'd highly recommend looking up the highlights of him tomorrow.
Minnesota got up by 15 quickly after the 3v5 had begun. I think this made them believe it was just a joke. They loafed around on offense until 4 min left and realized that if they didn't get their shite together they could lose.

I think they should give ref discretion for guys who get up take a step then remember "Woah bad idea"
A few guys got up and made it a couple steps before going back to the bench/stopping themselves. Should be a warning and possibly tech for those guys

Unconfirmed because the cameras weren't over there. I'd love to see what had happen if it had occurred on their side of the court.

Adam Zagoria has some tweets of video and doesn't look like their bench cleared. while it doesn't show Minnesota bench, you'd see any Minn players if they made it more than 2-3 steps

The way Petty got hurt was sort of dirty I thought. Stepping that far under a jump shooter is dangerous defending. Jalen Rose'd as Kobe Bryant once said.

Normally I'm with you, but this one didn't look that dirty to me. I'd call it irresponsible but I can't fault a guy closing out for that when Petty landed that far forward

They started off just shooting open shots. However, they missed a bunch and then started clearly thinking they needed to take closer open shots. This led to a bunch of really awkward, not confident 15 footers. And then all of a sudden the game was close and Sexton was going nuts and they got even more tight.
Pitino probably should have called timeout and came up with something but he never really did.
It almost got away from them. It was......I mean it was unreal.

It happened right in front of our bench is probably why.
Still dumb as hell for our idiots to all jump out there

I think we're getting caught up too much in the 3 players thing. I realize we were all watching football, but just watching some of the game replay, our bigs and defense were awful.
We have a long way to go. Hall is still weak. The other three bigs get lost on defense.
Also, Dazon not starting then instantly coming in is a bad sign. He must have broken some sort of team role.
Minnesota was killing us until Mason went out.

Totally agree. We were awful for most of the game. However, we had made a run to get it back to 7 or 8 before all hell broke loose. I watched all of halftime and it was not pretty.
We didn't play well today.

If our bigs, particularly Giddens, can't learn to defend without fouling, we're in trouble. Texas A&M will kill us.

Yeah our post game is too weak right now to really compete for the top of the league IMO. Hall is pretty much just a defensive presence and I really don't know about giddens right now

Bigs are overrated these days, guard play is much more important. We re the 3rd best team in the league at this point and today was all heart , when people who cover CBB are praising it we should take notice. A healthy key and more experience will help. Our bigs are insanely athletic, just have to protect rim and rebound . We ll be fine

Hall has been fairly solid in the post and as a finisher this year. Even in his "off" game today he scored 8 pts in just 15 min.

If it had been broadcast anywhere besides Facebook, it would be all over sports news. As it is, the clips are short, shitty and from a bad angle. Why they couldn’t find a better outlet than Facebook, I don’t understand.

They are overrated until you play a team with good forwards like we did today. We were getting abused down low on both ends of the court and on rebounds.
