I'll be honest, I won't be mad at all. These guys laid it on the line for 2 days. It's understandable if they run out of gas.

Still, would love to see them gut it out and give the Cats all they can handle.

So if we got an 8/9 win and lost to a 1 seed, you’d be pissed? Please. Give me a break.

If you asked any rational person back in October if a 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament would have been considered a successful season they would have said yes. Period.

And if you are going to get mad about that after 1 NCAA appearance since the Bush administration then that is a you problem.

You don't have to think Avery is great or even good, but if you aren't excited about this then I don't even know what the hell the point of all this is.

The expectations for this year were to be a top 25-type team and we fell way short. Getting back to the NCAAT is progress, but the team still underachieved all season and that shouldn't be ignored.

If your expectations were that kind of season you're insane. That was the ceiling for this team if a lot of things went right. Most teams do not reach their ceilings.

Preseason top 25 team, preseason top 4 SEC pick. Lost 14 games and finished 9th. That's not a successful season. I've already said, if we put together a successful postseason that it will mostly make up for it.

My expectations were to be sitting in my chair on Sunday at 4 with no worry about making the field. That has happened.

We're playing well at the most important time of the year and are safely in the tournament. For a program that hasnt closed the deal in 5 years I think this is a helluva first step.

Everyone is free to have their own opinion, but I truly don't understand how anyone who has suffered through the miserable close calls of this program could be mad or even snarky about where we are right now.

Nobody on this board expected this team to lose 14 games. Nobody. Go back and look at preseason predictions. We dramatically underachieved this year.

That’s the regular season not the post season

You're basically saying that because we've underachieved in the past, we should be ok with underachieving this year, because at least we finally made a field of 68 teams. The sunshine pumpers need to chill.

I can truly tell you I don't care about number of wins or losses. I care about making and seeding in the tournament.

I hoped to be somewhere between a 6-10 seed. We'll probably be a 9 or 10. Everyone is welcome to their own expectations but mine was to make the tournament, preferably not as a last 4 in team.

We did it. I'm happy. Now on the phase 2, winning in the tournament - the most important thing in college basketball.

No, I'm saying that programs take steps and we took a step. I'm also saying you are insane to expect this team, specifically, the be a Top 4/5 seed. And even more insane to be pissed that they aren't.

And LOL at me being a sunshine pumper.

Ok, so let's make it to the second weekend of the postseason to make up for that hellish regular season. Then, we can give Avery a pass. Other than that, Avery still earns low marks for this season.

The regular season and the win total don't mean dick. Quick, how many games did we win in 2005? Nobody cares because we sucked in the tournament and lost our 1st game.

The tournament is all that matters. We're in it and we're playing well. Now they define their season.

We have talent to be a top five seed team. So, yes that's what I expecting. And, yes if you are indeed trying to sell sneaking into the tourney as a double digit seed with a lottery pick as some sort of breakthrough, you are indeed a sunshine pumper.

We won 25 games in 2005 and it was a great year. That team had a disappointing game. This team had a disappointing season. Win a couple more games and that'll make up for it, IMO.

2/3 of that talent had almost or literally zero NCAA experience entering this year. Sorry, just going to have to disagree with you there.

But that's ok, we all get our opinions.

Losing in the first or second round as a double digit seed is a failed season. I don't think anybody would've argued that at the beginning of the year. Again, go back and look at preseason predictions instead of moving the goalposts to act like we've met expectations.

Gene is having a hard time with this game
I’d love to see the list of “circus shots” we hit and which foul calls he thought were bogus.

18 point thumping, Gene. Didn’t have much to do with circus shots or refs.

Poor Gene. Hate it for him.
