Love to hear that confidence from a player.

Obviously, FT's and rebounding were abysmal but the game was fun to watch. That alone was an improvement.

This team has great potential.

BYU is terrible this year. We should win that one, no problem. Doesn't help the SOS though.

How do you know they aren't good? They just beat a decent Princeton team.

Not sure if this was posted already, but Collin rustled his first victim of the season.

Lipscomb head coach Casey Alexander on Collin Sexton: Credit to him, he played a good game. But I didn't think that much of it really.

BYU's pg is a great shooter from long range.

We will have to slow him down.

BYU RPI=199

SOS=248

Preseason rank=72

They only play 4 teams ranked higher than themselves (preseason rank): Gonzaga, Utah, Bama, and one other. Their projected finish is 21-10 and on the bubble. If that was in a decent conference, not too bad. In the Mountain West, it's pretty weak.

One of BYU's best players is ineligible due to some issue, we should win as long as we play to our capabilities. UT Arlington is gonna be a better test I think. If we handle them I ll feel very confident heading to Brooklyn

Need some context here. Didn’t think that much of what?

Probably meant he wasnt paying attention to what Collin did and was only thinking about what his team did right/wrong.

I think some reporter was trying to get him to talk about the "super duper freshman and his fantastic first game." Alexander didn't want to play along, so he made a point of downplaying Sexton. Kind of douchey, really.

Yea, it really was. I mean, the kid put up 22 pts and 5 assists in 27 minutes. Give a boiler plate he's a great player line and move on. It'd be one thing if somebody asked that after Sexton went for 7 pts and 3 assists.............

"If I hadn't known the backstory I wouldn't have thought anything of it" - ok cool bro.

Yeah. My first read of that is that he is saying didn't enjoy seeing Sexton play such a good game, which is understandable since he is the coach of the team that just got beat by 20.

#14 Minnesota won to move to 3-0.
#20 NW lost at home so maybe we can sneak in the top 25.
Oklahoma won to move to 2-0.

We could easily have 7 games against top 15 teams. Florida and A&M twice, Kentucky, Minnesota, and Arizona.

Yea - they did a great job with this schedule. Very Gottfriedish (which in this case is a great thing).

With the exception of Alabama A&M all our OOC games are against teams that will probably finish in the Top 1/2 or 1/3 of their leagues. There is only 1 RPI disaster team on the schedule (AAMU).

Add to that the Arizona, Minnesota and Texas games, plus a revitalized SEC, and our SOS and RPI are going to be through the roof, even if we lose some of these games.

Yeah, you wouldn't have thought much about an opposing player scoring almost a point per minute (and assisting 5 more buckets) against your defense if you hadn't "known his backstory"? Riiiiiiiiiiight.
Whatever though.. not a big deal. His thoughts on Sexton don't change the fact that his team got dominated down the stretch and lost by 22, which is what I enjoyed most about the game.

Do you think 18 wins would be enough to get us in?

18 wins should be enough depending on who those wins were against.
