I mean, Auburn and Florida played fricking horrible basketball against us, so it kind of evens out. I agree about teams like Ole Miss though. If we don't shite the bed against literally all of UCF, Vandy, UGA, and Ole Miss we are playing purely for seeding at this point.

They played well in the 1st half. 2nd half was their usual stuff. Meh and then Knox hits some shots. The rebounding was just pathetic and can't be excused. Hell if we played decent in the paint we probably have control for most of this game.

Everything was stacked against us today. The KY crowd was much more into it than normal, and the it was easy for Cal to have the attention of his players today. This was sort of like going to Auburn. A Sht storm--as Saban calls it. Plus, we are not a great team, just like KY will not be a great team this year. Playing 10 players and half of them are freshmen--leads to inconsistent play. We have another Sht storm to be played soon--in agbarn. Almost zero chance to win that one.

But why do we let them?

They'd lost 4 straight and we're playing for their lives. They made contested mid range jumpers and free throws like they hadn't done since West Virginia (another back to the walls performance by them).

They owned our arse on the boards and that sucked, but they've lost 2 home games all year by a total of like 4 points. If people expected us to waltz in there and win and want to treat losing like losing a home game to UCF that's on them for being that naive.

Sorry, not trying to pissy, but this is basketball. You lose tough road games. We played hard, with identity and just lost. This wasn't Georgia, Ole Miss or Vandy.

We gotta bank on winning all the home games (not a for sure thing) and hopefully win @ A&M. Auburn is gonna be a hell of a task.

I wouldn't say UK played all that well. They seemingly missed all their first shots

Not in the first half

We just allowed them 2nd and 3rd opportunities every time down the court. Coach Ponytail should bulk our guys up some more.

They clearly played with a sense of purpose today. We didn't match it. It cost us.

Losing sucks.

Yea, sometimes you get bested in an area of the game. Kentucky beat us on the boards with intensity and athleticism. We lost the game because of it.

We didn't let them get those rebounds. They outworked us and out positioned us.

This was a must-win game for them. A loss put them perilously close to being NIT bound. They're not as good as they have been in recent years, but they still have blue-chip players on their roster. It's not like we got beat by E Popcorn State.

We have to win 2 more games. The easiest path is winning 2 home games.

Which is really inexcusable when we aren't a lock for the tournament. That's why I laugh when people are acting like U.K. had more to play for than us.

It was a really weird game for us. We brought it on both offense and defense but we were not bringing the effort down low. That's why you have to execute in every phase

Tough loss today, we do indeed have a shitty fanbase at times

It's not like we were playing soft and mindless. A lot of it was us having to chase guys around and not being able to get good boxes and Kentucky, depsite their faults, is still pretty damn athletic at the 3/4/5.

Do you guys really think our guys we're loafing around without a sense of purpose? Maybe I'm just turning into a total sunshine pumper but I thought our effort and execution was pretty solid for 37 minutes and we kind of lost it the last 3. We matched them basket for basket until that point.

Hopefully we can steal one in Auburn this week.

I think our effort was great offensively and making switches on defense. I think any time they drove past us in the paint, our guys became observers instead of finding a man and boxing their arse out. We had guys watching waiting on someone else to make the play. That mindset works when Donta can out jump everyone but it won't work against someone more athletic than us.

OUr effort was fine for the most part. Obviously the defensive glass being the biggest exception.

We missed a LOT of good, open looks from the 3-point line as well.

Agree with both those points
