Sexton will miss 1 game

quote:

Statement from Alabama AD Greg Byrne: "Collin Sexton will sit out of Friday’s season opener against Memphis to serve a one-game suspension for a violation of NCAA rules. He will be eligible for competition in the team’s home opener on Tuesday versus Lipscomb."

Sucks that he'll miss a game, but all things considered, it's a great outcome.

(I've been quietly really nervous/skeptical over here.)

I don't understand. If he is not guilty, why punish him?

Yeah I'm glad but what does the suspension even mean? Is it bama just suspending so it looks good? I'm a little confused. Maybe he did something wrong but it wasn't a big deal?

Yeah, that was his Dad. Collin didn't.

Wasn't the reason that Auburn got Cam eligible was because he didn't know what his dad did?

Byrne's statement specifically says he is suspended a game for a violation of NCAA rules. The details of that violation obviously haven't hit the airwaves yet, if they ever do.

Really doesn't matter though. Glad he's been cleared and will get to play.

Even though I'm more a football fan than a basketball fan (played basketball in high school), I'm looking forward to watching this team play.
