Where do find players who can shoot 3s consistently? Watching Witchita State and they're on fire

coudln't disagree more with his assessment of the fans being responsible for Alabama not playing well

I was kind of confused since he contradicted himself

- Avery gets Bama players to play harder than Ben Simmons at LSU
- Bamas crowd didn't get the players playing hard enough to win

So does Wimp think Bama played hard or not?

At the half of Witchita State Temple, they asked is Auburn's stock up or down. Wtf kind of question is that?

Yes, Mizzou was able to grind on us down low and kill us inside when Roberson wasn't bombing 3's from Northport. But we had them on the ropes. Managed to fight back from down a dozen to tie the game, two of their bigs had 4 fouls apiece, a couple of other players had 3 fouls and then it happened. Collin and anyone else handling the ball quit driving and pressuring them in the lane. Our lottery pick PG who makes a living driving and creating opportunities, decided he was Stephon Curry and started throwing up 3 attempts. And he made one which only encouraged him, but only one. We were in the bonus 4 minutes into the 2nd half then we let them coast all the way to the end. WTF? Even I know when you get that opportunity you press your advantage. Every offensive set should have been some sort of drive or pick and roll to force them to work to defend us and probably foul. I would have also pressed more to try and turn them over and create some fast breaks to again, force them to choose to allow us an uncontested basket or risk another foul. We did none of that and started trying to shoot with Missouri where we are woefully inadequate unless Petty is hot.

Speaking of Petty, WTF is his problem? I love the kid's potential, it makes me want to drool, but when he displays it once every 5 games or only when Collin is out with an injury, it's virtually useless. It's just potential. I know he's a freshman, but damn, son, act like you've played the game before. I'm just maddeningly frustrated with him.

If we miss the tourney, we will look back on this game as the critical loss that sealed our fate. No other L could be so detrimental unless we manage to lose at home to LSU too. Don't put it past us, anything is possible. We've GOT to get another marquis win now, but this one will have to be on the road or we have to beat the Vols. Neither looks very likely. Every time I start believing Bama basketball has risen from the ashes...frick my life.

I'm still irritated and just disgusted. No excuse for what happened last night.

Yeah I'm still pretty bummed out. Stand by it though that we only need 4 more wins and we're in.

It's pretty alarming though if we go all 3 years under Avery essentially blowing our chances of the tournament late in the year.

mean, do you blame them right now? One is arguably the most consistent team in the country over the last 2 months. The other just lost at home to Missouri.

Lol. Funny how somehow who made every excuse for youth just 2 weeks has switched up their mantra.

I just can't wrap my mind around how we can't be one team in a field of 64.

Idk why I care so much about Bama basketball, but I just keep coming back for more after every single disappointment. It’s like there’s always 10 disappointments for every good thing that happens. It’s ridiculous

The only positive I can take from Bama basketball is AT LEAST we’re not a bottom dweller like Alabama A&M or someone like that. We do occasionally beat some good teams and have fun watching them play....that’s the only reason I’ve been able to survive watching them the last 10 years

Are you talking about me? I haven't made excuses for this team at all. I've tried to look at them rationally. They are young, so they are going to be up and down. We are the 4th least experienced team in America. We aren't going to consistently win every game the same way. We are going to have nights where we look like shite and like we have no idea what we are doing.

However, something being an "excuse" isn't an "excuse" for everything.

- Youth is an excuse for losing at Ole Miss. It's frustrating, but it's understandable.
- Youth is an excuse for coming out flat against Missouri after beating Oklahoma. It was super frustrating, but it was understandable.
- Youth is NOT an excuse for playing flat and uninspired for 40 minutes against Missouri
- Youth is NOT an excuse for the shitetastic coaching job Avery did on Wednesday night (or some of the other stubborn stinkers he has thrown out this year)

Youth is legitimate. It's a real thing. It's the coaches job to have figured out our youth and find ways to coach around it and/or adjust. He has not done a very good at all with that. It will probably cost us a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Also, you realize this Auburn team that was discussed above is filled with guys who had the EXACT same issues our guys are currently having the last 2 years, right? Herron, Brown, Harper, Spencer, McLemore. Auburn beat us and then won @ TCU around this time last year and were sitting at 16-8 (5-5). They then lost 5 of their next 6 and lost in the 1st round of the SECT to finish 18-14 (7-11).

The problem is I'm not sure Avery is as good a college basketball coach as Pearl is and I'm not sure we will progress like their guys have.

Avery gets paid what? 2.9 million a year?

Looking at what the other NCAAT coaches got paid last year....59 of the coaches got paid less.

The only return that we will get this year is touting that our program "produced" a top 10 NBA Draft Pick.

That's it. The return on our investment is still pathetic.
