That was pitiful and Sexton was trash. His style of play is fairly annoying to watch as he just slams into people and begs for fouls. Make the damn shot or pass to your teammates. Just slinging the ball in the air isn't going to get fouls called. You're not the AAU superstar anymore.

Those referees were abysmal. SEC Refs. are abysmal. Half the time they let players maul each other, and then they decide to call a touch foul. Which way you want it blue?

I’m there...GTFO Avery and take that Pelicans GM job because you SUCK as a college coach.

I'm not sure if it's confidence or just that teams are defending him better. He still gets to the rim whenever he wants. He just can't finish, and he isn't getting the calls he'll probably get at the next level.

I just want us to make open shots. Is that too much to ask?

Yep - and he has clearly not gotten calls. I don't know if it's because he's small, if it's on purpose because refs think he is throwing himself into guys or what.......but it's not effective and he HAS to adjust.
Right now he doesn't seem to really know what to do. He doesn't want to be a ball hog and plays passive or he decides he needs to take over and rams into the paint.
His confidence seems pretty shaken.

BPI has us at a 53.8% chance to beat OU.
Where the frick do they get these numbers? We gonna get trashed.

Ole Miss is a lot better than Vandy. I don't care what their RPI is, Ole Miss is a decent team. They aren't the 2nd worst team in the conference at least.

Just try to score. frick drawing fouls. Just get the ball in the net.

Yea, it was a stinker (and not the 1st), but we're literally still in the tournament. Tough one to drop for 100 reasons, but a loss in a place we never win to snap a 4 game win streak isn't worth that much anger IMHO.

They were well thought of in the off-season for a reason and have now played 4 straight really solid games.
Bad loss for us with what is coming up but hardly some sort of cataclysmic event.

Young going to take Sexton to school and show him what a real player is..Sexton presses too much and then doesnt get back on D.Too much watch me

We probably just have to win 5 more games + 1 in the tournament to get in. That's a credit to our schedule which has actually been worse than we thought it would be.
Texas A&M, UT-A, Minnesota, La Tech, Mercer, and Lipscomb have all shite the bed in conference.
Auburn, Oklahoma, and Memphis a little bit are the only two teams that have performed well to our benefit.

Honestly I just think our players aren't that good. I get everyone wanting to attack Avery, but the team is young and like I said this Ole Miss team isn't that bad.
The officiating in the second half was horrible. Ole Miss isn't a bad team, and they were hitting contested stepbacks on the regular. Our best 2 scorers (one of them playing through injury) were terrible from the field. But yet the blame is still on the coach. I get that there are reasonable complaints against Avery, but the blame isn't on the coach for every loss, guys.
Didn't they say that we're the 5th youngest team in the nation? You can't just look past that fact...

The kid has been out a few games, and was playing through injury. Seriously, some of y'all are the worst.

It honestly feels a lot like a few of those Gottfried teams. Never seemed to quite play up to potential except in random spurts, go 18-13 but have a top 10 schedule and get in as a 10 seed.

I'll be honest, a small part of me was afraid that if Sexton didn't live up to potential his playing and personality style could easily lead to our fanbase really really turning on him.
Hopefully he turns it around on the floor and we don't have to worry about all that.

shitty ole miss squad
They aren't shitty. Ole Miss have arguably the highest potential back court and decent front court. They are prone to shite games, but they have what it takes to beat any team in the SEC especially at home

Auburn gives me hope for next year. They had sort of similar issues last year with wild inconsistency over the course of almost every game. We're better than last year's Auburn team, and hopefully we'll return everyone other than Sexton who'd be stupid to stay.
