Good question - I'm not sure how to do that but it would probably give us a few more points.

Arkansas is winless on the road (including OOC) and got blown the frick out at home by LSU. If we're healthy, they should not beat us in Coleman.
Feel like we always lose a back breaker at home to Arkansas while on the bubble.

Alabama A&M is currently weighing you down by the same amount as the Rhode Island win is a positive. Bama's SOS changes from ~RPI 5-10 to RPI Top 5
So right now with SEC projected to get 7-9 teams in the NCAAT, anyone else worried about the Big12 challenge? It isn't absurd to think the SEC could go 2-8 or 3-7
Can't imagine the SEC placing >6 teams in the NCAAT if we lose 7+ in the challenge

I'm worried about it a little. The SEC has never won the thing. I think some of the Big XII's highly ranked teams are pretenders though. TCU and Texas Tech in particular I think are overrated, and I don't see Oklahoma as a top 10 team either.
I'll say 5-5. Winners in bold.
Baylor @ Florida
Tennessee @ Iowa State
Texas A&M @ Kansas
Georgia @ Kansas State
Oklahoma @ Alabama
Oklahoma State @ Arkansas
TCU @ Vanderbilt
Ole Miss @ Texas
Texas Tech @ South Carolina
Kentucky @ West Virginia

A few weeks ago, I was saying Oklahoma was gonna absolutely destroy us. But now that we’re on the rise and Oklahoma is falling off a bit, I’m feeling better about it. And the thing about Oklahoma is, Trae Young scores almost half their points every game. Without him, they’re not a top 25 team. Put Herbert or Collin on Trae and we may can hold him to 20-25 points instead of his usual 30 or 40. That gives Bama a really good chance to win

A lot of our guys are picking Bama over Oklahoma. I'm really curious where all this confidence is coming from. They shoot something like 50% from the floor, 40% from 3 point range, and they're in or near the top 10 in 3 point FGs per game.
Defending the 3 is one of our team's biggest weaknesses. IMO, it is really a bad matchup for us.

Considering how good the Big12 is, I think just going 4-6 or 5-5 is acceptable

Only problem is TCU/Tech get Vandy + USCe

I don't think they are a top 10 team, but I still think they should be favored. Especially if Sexton isnt 100%
I'd have 4-6 but I could see anything from going 1-9 to 6-4

Women continue to play solid basketball. Considering where they were 5 years ago, possibly the worst major D1 program in America, Curry has done a steady job of building the program in the toughest conference in America. They now compete with the best teams in the league, beat bad teams like they should and have toss ups with the good but not great teams. It's great to see.

I'm not confident about winning, but they've lost their last 3 away games. Most of the metric predictions have the game essentially 50-50. Our opponents average 32% shooting from 3, so I don't think defending the 3 is our biggest weakness. The numbers actually say it's a strength.
Our weaknesses are almost all on offense. 14.2 turnovers per game (242 in the country), 33.6% from deep (228 in the country), and 68.8% from the line (243 in the country)

Our defense has been fantastic in league play so far.
#1 in defensive efficiency

Got to work on that opponent FT% bruh

It isn't just hte block % but that block% is 20.0% which is absolutely absurd, especially in conference play
quote:
#6 in 3P Shooting %
As I pointed out above, I think this has more to do with playing some of the worst 3FG shooting teams in conference
4 of Bama's opponents are shooting worse in conference than Bama's 3FG% defense, while Vandy is only 33.1% and USCe is 31.4%

#2 in 2P Shooting %
This is especially legit since you have played some elite 2FG% offenses, both in conference play + throughout the year
quote:
#2 in Steal %
This is a surprise to me, but I believe has a lot to do with Herbie Jones + active hands by the big men inside. They've seemed to get quite a few big man steal on entry passes

Yep - and while we have played teams that don't shoot as well from outside so far (South Carolina, State, A&M) we also have played better extended defense. We played a few of those same types of teams that lit us up because our team defense was abysmal in the non-conference (Texas for one). We have been a lot better as the young guys seem to start figuring it out. Our rotation and switching has been light years better the last few weeks. Petty has really done a nice job around the perimeter.
I thought we played our best team defense of the season on Saturday - State just uncharacteristically started making step back NBA 3's on the reg.

Random note from the State game : That team played some physical arse offense. Their big guys set some MAN screens. Petty and Herb did a great job consistently beating through those things, especially in the 2nd half when everyone was tired. State's bigs didn't do any of that olay, half arse sliding screen stuff. They set tree trunk picks. And even with those they didn't get a whole lot of open looks outside to pump and drive on.

Old guy confession. Last week when folks were excited that Red Panda was performing, I just assumed it was a DJ or another rapper I had never heard of.

I hadn't seen Red Panda live in a long time. That's some of the most insane shite I've ever seen.

Agreed.
Also,I couldn't believe they never got called for a moving screen at some point in the paint.
But I'm sure they let a few of ours slide too. We usually get 3 of those a game minimum.

Giddens played 22 minutes and didn't foul out. We clearly got away with some stuff

I was going to mention him but he played well so I let it slide.
Should Hall even be playing? He clearly hurt himself on that dunk miss and also couldn't extend his hand on FT's (the were all short).

Yea he seemed to be hurting. Of course, I think it is just a pain thing and playing won't effect his healing. If so, he's good for a few minutes as a defense and put back dunk guy only.
He dropped 2-3 LOUUUUUD f'bombs after he missed that short drop hook in the 2nd half when he came to the bench. He was irate.
