Just looking ahead...
I should point out that Avery Johnson was in the @Saints VIP section (again) on Christmas eve.
Given his relationship to NOLA hierarchy, he’s my top choice for #Pelicans GM if/when Benson/Loomis clean house in April/May.

By all means Avery, if you want the job, fricking go.

wanted him to beat Auburn, but I wasn’t mad losing to anyone else.

If you want AJ firEd, I have a hard to believing it would happen if AJ beats Auburn twice

I'd be pretty surprised if Avery gets fired this year

I’d be surprised too. Now if he left on his own to take the Pelicans GM job, that’s another story. Keeping my fingers crossed now.

what we know is most all the tickets for Bama BB games will be bought from those wishing to get Bama football tickets...........wash,rinse,repeat.

It would be good to have a solid BB program. I think I understand how the Kentucky football fans feel about their football program.

I’m not pulling for Avery to get fired. I want him to turn it around. But if he continues to lose every other game like he has for the past 10 or 11 games, that’s not gonna cut it for me. And with the way Auburn is playing, we don’t have to worry about him beating them and keeping his job. Auburn will probably beat us by 10 in Tuscaloosa and then by 25 at Auburn

No way he gets fired this year. No way. But if he goes back to the NBA in some fashion, this is encouraging news. I'd be on board with it.

I wouldnt mind us giving Antoine Pettway a shot at head coach. May be speaking with my heart over head on that one though.

Not sure if he’s ready for that yet. I’d rather him go prove he can coach at a mid-major school one day and then come back to Bama when he has experience and has shown he can win.

If that happens Bama should try and hire Tom Crean. Would seal the deal on Watford + Crean is a legit high quality coach

I was all in on the Crean train when we hired Avery. Would much rather hire Crean/Matta than roll the dice on some random mid-major guy.

However, probably all moot.

Whatever we do we need a guy who can flat out coach. So tired of the way the players look. Want to see a well coached team go look at the womens team. Always moving on offense. Hope Avery takes his son with him if he leaves.

Unless Avery gets an offer he can’t resist from someone like the Pelicans or some team close to home, he’s probably gonna be here another year

Avery finessed the hell out of us. Like someone told me them dudes in the NBA coach themselves. They know the game. Steve Kerr would have much harder job coaching a college team than coaching the warriors.

That’s the main problem. He’s treating them like NBA players. He doesn’t know how to coach the X’s and O’s very well bc he’s never had to that much and he doesn’t know how to be strict and stern when coaching them. He sort of let’s them just do what they want it seems. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. I still remember when he was interviewed a few weeks ago and he said something like “Usually we come into practice with our clown hats on......but they didn’t today”. I’m sitting here like, why in the world would you allow that to happen in the first place??? Every single high school coach I ever had demanded full attention from us. If they even THOUGHT we were clowning around in practice, we’d be chewed out and then we’d be running after practice. It starts with practicing how you want to play. He just isn’t getting the job done right now. There’s plenty of time to turn things around, but they’re showing no signs of doing it...

Only time plays are ever called in the NBA are out of TOs. The rest is 5 professional's playing free out there. College Kids cant do that, you actually have to call plays....I hope Avery knows this.
