I think that excuse works for aTm if it was a close game. But Bama scrubbed them so I think it's still a good win.

Yeah I've never seen Sexton get outplayed by another star PG though. In fact he usually gets into their head pretty good. Should be the best game of that day.

Sexton got best of him on summer circuit pretty consistently. There's a reason scouts still have cs rated higher.

And to whoever talked about making excuses...I've simply pointed out that we've played a tough schedule with a young team. Some of u act like aj should be able to morph into calipari overnight. Young teams take time to gell , it's not hard to understand.

A&M was missing important parts of their team tonight. I'm not sure why that's hard to understand.

For starters, we're ranked accordingly based on how we've played without Key. A&M got to be #5 largely due to how they played with with their full allotment. Without 2 starters, it's hard to say they are the #5 team

I'm not arguing that I think they are still a top 5 quality team without Hogg and Gilder (Top 25, probably). We pounded a top 5 team, because that is where they are currently ranked and that is what the headlines say. "Auburn manhandled the #1 team in the country in the Iron Bowl". They didn't just "beat a top 25 quality team due to injured players".

I just don't get why so many people are so quick with the asterisks...

And in turn these same people aren't accepting any excuses for their team's performances.

Enjoy the win!

I hate excuses. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy.

It would be boring as hell if we didn't disagree

I guess that's the point...We beat a very good team that was short-handed but Williams is their best player not gilder. There shouldn't be an asterisk on a good win, won't matter to selection committee . They see it as a resume win as should we. No team we've lost to is a bad team...They might all make the dance.

A&M doesn't really have a stud they heavily rely on. At least offensively. It's a joint effort. They have four players averaging around the same PPG, none of which are Williams who is their defensive anchor. They were basically without 2 of their top 5 players.

Considering their staple is defense and they still had their best defenders tonight and we dropped the second highest point total on them this year, I'd say it's a very impressive win. I mean Sexton even had a bad shooting night. That's very encouraging.

Agree on all points...I think sexton is still hobbling somewhat, he was wincing at times but he's a tough kid and has no fear. Very encouraging to have 4 guys combine for 67 pts and key did alot of little things to help. His scoring will come as long as he doesn't press.

"Either way, anyone betting on Alabama at less than a basket is a fool."

I think two things really helped us in this game (besides A&M being short two guys):

1. There was slightly less substituting for no damn reason.

2. A&M couldn't make threes.

Our length helped in zone defense too...We held our own on the boards which was a big key as well.

I think the third thing was how the refs officiated the game in the post (very few fouls on either team). Allowed Bama to play very aggressive D inside and on rebounds
