No doubt that Belue impressed the staff during spring, but I'm not convinced he's more talented than Fulton. I think a lot of people have writtne Fulton off because he hasn't played a lot the last 2 years, but that was only because we had guys like Dre, Menzie, and Milliner on the team.

I sort of agree. Before I saw him in the Spring Game I thought he sucked, but he looked pretty good. However, I liked what I saw from Belue more.

Either way we go to Nickel a lot so it isn't really like our NB is on the bench most of the time.

I don't see how this isn't how our setup looks.

a lot will depend on which position(s) Belue plays. You're basing your prediction on the assumption he plays corner and the "Star" position, similar to how Javier Arenas did in '09. But thats a lot of responsibility for a new guy. I've heard reports that several players have been practicing at Star. at this point, its too early to guess, but I dont think its safe to assume that Belue is going to come in and have that much responsibility, especially not early in the season before anyone even sees how he will handle everything at gametime.

True, but to change it up a bit, what do you guys think about the open DE spot? I have Dial as the favorite, but Stinson DID start in the A-Day game for the 1st team. Either way they'll both get a lot of PT, but I'd rather have Dial start.

DE is another spot where we are loaded.

I expect Stinson and Square to start, I think they bring the best combination of abilities to the table, both are decent pass pushers and excellent against the run. Dial and Stinson are almost interchangeable, I think dial is a little better at getting after the quarterback and stinson a little better at stopping the run, in years past the run stuffer has gotten the nod here.

The wildcards are Fanning and Pagan. They are 2 of the more talented players on the entire roster. Both have the size and skillset to play the B gap in nickel or end in the 3-4. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see them both on the field later in the year when we go to nickel and dime.

I think the base 3-4 will be square, williams, stinson.

Early in the year a 4 man front will probably be hubbard, williams, square, dial

Later in the year I could see this shifting to hubbard, williams, fanning, pagan.

Our d-line is the deepest position on the roster IMO, there isn't the top end talent of the o-line on paper just yet but the depth is unmatched. I haven't even mentioned guys like DJ Pettway who turned a lot of heads last year in practice and is another option at end, and if brandon ivory can get it together he is every bit as athletic as williams.

It's a good problem to have. I think Stinson is the first starter off the field on passing downs replaced by dial/fanning/pagan. We stacked

Get ready for this.

WR by commitee.

Yes.

Jones, White, Norwood, Bell, E. Williams, Cooper, and Black will all get plenty of touches. Plus Hart/Yeldon/Lacy out of the back field, and BMW and our H-Backs. (Vogler, Jones, Calloway.)

With that said, our best three this year will be Bell, Norwood, and C.Jones, with Williams being a nice target.

Then we return all of our WRs and AJ the next year and go off and dem bitches.

Lester will patrol the deep part of the field like he's Ed Reed defending a High School All Star team.

I realize that our DBs are talented, but a lack of experience is going to keep them from being dominant at least early on imo.

The receiver situation is awesome. Young, but too me receiver is a position where that is not a big deal. I hope a couple of the freshmen make big plays early/

WRs being young does have disadvantages. Their run blocking on the edge isn't great, but it can be good. Their route running is the only thing to worry about, but all of our youngs guys we saw in the Spring Game looked just fine running routes.

Also the secondary won't be dominant until halfway through the season, but it'll be good early on. We have the ability to dominate ToP and on defense people will have to pass to beat us. I don't see how anyone can beat us by passing when we have Milliner and Lester in the secondary.

Jump on board Marlon. I wish the drama with Bo had not happened and we could have gotten he and Marlon locked down early.

Bo and the "drama" with him have zero to do with Marlon. Had we offered his brother a couple of years ago then Marlon would arleady be committed. He'll commit eventually.

Right I know Marlon is not involved in the drama with Bo. I am just saying those are two five stars that we could possibly have locked down this early in the process.

I have a friend who talked to Marlon's older brother his senior year. He said he would've committed to Bama if we had offered him. Hopefully, Marlon feels the same way. The only thing that worries me is his desire to run track. Our track program is pretty sad and schools like LSU and FSU will be more than happy to point that out to him.

Im glad Bo did what he did. Dont want him pulling a Reuben on us. Marlon is a big kid. Did any of you see him at the Nationals AAU track and field meet. Kid is pretty fast.
