If Massington was a top tier player we wouldn't be playing hardball though. We made room for Dee Hart, we tried to greyshirt Taylor last year, etc.
Hart was playing hardball IIRC, he "threatened" that he and HCD would enroll at Auburn. Massington should befriend a high profile friend
Though a spot could be there for him, I think Saban just gave him the speech if one isn't.

Massington is one slumber party with Nkemdiche away from having an EE spot

Any news on how the OVs went this past weekend?

Hai guise I'd like to know what you think about Robert Foster's twitter pic. I'm talking about the one in the crimson shirt notice anything weird about it?

Definitely not a big deal. I just went to his page and its his pic on his home page. What does everybody think? Does Bama land him?

The consensus before Deon Johnson was accused of multiple rapes was that we were holding a spot for one WR, specifically Robert Foster.
We all know that Johnson's offer was pulled due to his legal troubles.
Therefore, we should have room for both Massington and Foster in this class. Two elite, big wideouts to finish this class would be fantastic.
Seeing as how we are only in on one elite WR in the 2014 class, Ermon Lane, I wholeheartedly hope that we get Massington and Foster in the 2013 class.

Also Dee Liner declined to comment when he was asked about his commitment to Auburn.

I'm thinking we have 6-7 spots left. Here is how I see it shaking out:
Eldridge Massington (all name team btw)
Robert Foster
Laremy Tunsil
Brandon Hill (bringing him back home)
Vonn Bell
Jalen Ramsey
And the shocker Ruben Foster...back where he belongs.
We may ask Parker McLeod to redshirt, thus giving David Knevel an EE spot, which would be ideal.
Number 1 recruiting class superlatives will flow like wine.

You forgot Liner. I think we sign Foster too. Have since he decommitted.

If we get Liner then we lose out on Knevel IMO. What's harder to recruit? Elite offensive lineman or defensive lineman?
I'd prefer the OT to be honest. We can get someone to replace Liner. OTs are a premier selection.

It's not a problem of Bama having room, but if Massington can get an EE spot.

McLeod will decommit if he's asked to greyshirt, he'll probably try to hop into someone elses' class. He didn't want to enroll early, but he decided to knowing that Bateman was. He won't let that be for nothing by waiting another year to go to Bama.
I could see him ending up in 1 of 3 Kentucky schools if he was "forced" out...

Look for McLeod to leave. It's been in the cards for awhile now.
Mags, you know I like him but he's not elite. We have Bateman, who I'm high on but he needs work, and that's enough for this class. We need a top 50 guy in 2014 at the QB position or a guy like EJ Moss (who isn't high on the the recruiting sites rankings, but he's a stud, trust me) who will make passing on McLeod ok.
To me it comes down to choosing between a possible elite O-Lineman in Knevel and a possible elite D-lineman in Liner. History shows that we have fared better with a dominant O-Line and decent D-line than vice versa.

im fine with that. i dont think he really brings anything to the table, just kind of a space filler. an elite OL, DL, or WR recruit would be a much better use of his spot

I think we finish with
Vonn
Liner
Massington
Rob Foster
Beckwith
Dawson

Nick, I know you value lineman as much as the most fervent Bama fan.
Do you feel like me and agree that we are higher on offensive guys than defensive guys?

Don't infer what as me wanting him to stick, I'm indifferent at this point. The staff shot low and it didn't pan out his Senior year. Not that he can't improve, but he's still the sheltered player he was last year.
Bateman has vastly superior tools to McLeod, but he has little idea how to use it. Much like another QB Nuss had in Jake Locker. He's a better runner than thrower right now.
I think Moss' best position is LB, he just has to commit to it. He's dominant when he plays it, but he hardly does. Though I still would take him over McLeod as a QB.

I don't think they'll pass up Liner, especially since they've stressed getting more instate talent on the team. Bama will already be getting a potential "top" OT in Tunsil if they land him, not to mention quality players in Grant Hill and Bradley Bozeman. Even David Dawson is a possibility.
He's much more possible than Reuben Foster at this point IMO.
