We probably have 7 spots left, here are the players we seem to be after the hardest

Locks according to insiders

LB/DE - Demarcus Walker (announcing August 3rd)

RB - Derrick Henry (Said today he may announce before the season)

OT - Kenneth Santa Marina (should announce before the season)

Great chance at getting

WR - Robert Foster (Pitt/Bama battle)Think Bama takes the lead if he has a good visit Thursday)

LB/DE - Kendall Beckwith (Lsu/Bama battle)Seems even between Bama and LSU right now.

S - Antonio Conner (Ole Miss/Bama battle)Hard to call at this point, I like our chances.

DT - Greg Gilmore (LSU/Bama battle)LSU leads currently but he had such a good visit to Bama, insiders were thinking he'd commit on the spot, he's been talking very favorably about Alabama since his visit.

CB - Marquez White (FSU/Bama battle)Committed to FSU but is announcing again August 1st, flip possible)

LB - Matthew Thomas (FSU/Bama/Miami battle) We were his leader til recently when he named FSU his leader, if we can get him on campus I think we have a good shot, seems to be a situation where he loves Bama but his parents and coaches want him to stay in state, but last week he was considered a Bama lean so anything can happen.

Longshot but still a chance

OT - Laremy Tunsil
CB - MacKensie Alexander
CB - Brendan Langley (We lead last I heard but he may not have a commit able offer for some reason, not sure why)
LB/DE - Tim Williams
OT - Dorian Johnson (Penn State commitment)

There are several PSU commits that UA was involved with. Sickles, Hackenburg, Johnson and Breneman. I know the Tide staff has still been in contact with the OT Johnson, but I would think that all will be getting phone calls.

We're making a hard push for Dorian Johnson supposedly, and stayed in contact with him even after he committed to PSU.Hopefully we can get him on campus before the season.Would love to have him.

Man if we can land Robert Foster, Demarcus Walker, and Derrick Henry then anything after that will just be extra.

Its crazy how good this class is and how well a lot of the players fit exactly what Alabama wants to do offensively and defensively.

Man I'm super excited right now. Very happy to get McNeil on board and to grab another solid linebacker in Walker Jones.

Plus a plum or two from the Penn State exodus.

Alabama is in better shape for Tunsil than some of you think:

quote:

"In an interesting twist the two schools many believed to be in the best shape for the five-star prospect for several months have seen their communication with Tunsil drop recently.

“I haven’t talked to Georgia in a while. Florida has been writing me on Facebook, but I haven’t been responding. I’ve just been taking a break.”

Tunsil isn't a long shot. Alabama is in @ least as good a shape as any school at this point. There are people @ UGA who think Alabama leads right now.

Here's my list:

Closest to committing:

Demarcus Walker
Derrick Henry
Santa Maria

Good shot at:
Kendall Beckwith
Marquez White

No one knows what he's doing: Tony Connor

Maybe I'm just pessimistic but I think all the others are long shots. Gilmore and Williams most likely end up at LSU. I don't think Foster leaves the north or Thomas leaves Florida. And I never thought we were that much of a threat for Tunsil, Alexander, or Johnson.

So if we miss on all those, who are our targets?

If somehhow we can get in on Tim Williams that would be great. Really really would love to have him somewhere on our team.

Just an FYI. I expect him to pick UF or LSU

I, personally, think he'd be wise to pick LSU. Ole Miss is a dumpster fire, State is State, Alabama is pretty thick at safety, and he could get quick playing time at LSU. Craig Loston and Eric Reid will be gone soon. And they really don't have anyone proven behind those two.

Am I the only one wondering how the hell 247 has Robert Foster ranked so high?

I believe he's in the 16 to 35 range nationally by 247, Rivals, Scout, ESPN. All four services are equally high on him.
