Nice quote on Tenpenny--Hes going to be a beast. He and Henry would make a lights out combo.

quote:You have to assume at least 1, maybe 2, will transfer due to lack of playing time. They're too good to just sit on the bench. Although, what exactly is Henry being recruited as? I'm assuming running back, but I think he'll end up at linebacker because of his freakish abilities and measurables. That might allow some of the others to get touches, and it'd get more of them on the field at the same time. Didn't Henry run a 4.5 and jump, like, 41 inches or something?
guys on Campus that will be here for 3 mores years. Yeldon, Hart, Drake

OK- So are we really going to get all 3 of the RB's? We need them, IMO.

That will be a sick RB class! Plus with the guys on Campus that will be here for 3 mores years. Yeldon, Hart, Drake we are going to be stacked!
Seems strange for all three of those guys to sign with Bama. There's only one ball and as you noted, Hart, TJ and Drake will have at least three yrs left. Also will deal with Fowler and possibly Lacy for one year. Do these elite RB's really want to sit a year or two at best?

When exactly is Robert Foster's visit and are there any family members or coaches coming with him?

Regardless of what Tenpenny says, we've got to watch for Arkansas and ND with him.

From today about Henry
"Saban made sure to let the 6-foot-3, 240-pound running back know that he was still a priority for the Tide and that his future was in the backfield."

Drake supposedly isn't gonna play RB, this will be Lacy's last year, and there are rumors that Fowler is being moved to H Back.
So really after this year we'd have
Yeldon - sophmore
Hart - sophmore
Tenpenny - freshman
Henry - freshman
Jones - freshman

Not too worried about Arkansas really.

quote:I think that's just the selling point. I bolded how big he is already. He's only going to get bigger and I personally think he has a high ceiling at linebacker. Like I said, he's a freak. And he'll probably gain 10-15 pounds during his freshman year at Alabama when he really hits the weights. No way Saban puts a guy at running back that is 6'3 250 plus. Just my opinion, though.

He was number 1 on 247, must have moved him to number 2, but if you'll notice him and the number 1 rated wr both have rankings of 98, meaning they have the same grade.

But he's still behind him in the ranking, and that's with Seals-Jones as an Athlete. Not knocking Foster, he's just not the #1 WR.

If he can run the ball effectively I don't think it matters to Saban if he's 5'5" or 6'5".
Brandon Jacobs has had a long successful career as a huge running back. I think drake may switch positions and wouldn't be shocked if hart transfers if/when he gets passed by Yeldon. I think tyren jones will eventually be the best of the bunch anyway, including the guys on campus. It is nice though to have studs available to give the bellcow a breather. I think that's why you see so many elite backs interested. They know that there are plenty of carries to go around

Just watched a few plays of his soph highlight film that was linked earlier. Is he a legit 240 now? He doesn't look near that heavy in the soph film.

Well like a month ago he was the number 1 wr
I'll still take him

We have a must-listen interview with the nation's No. 1 WR recruit, Robert Foster. We also go one-on-one with former OSU and NFL standout LeCharles Bentley and much more.
quote:
Despite the question marks around Foster's recruitment, many believe that it is a Penn State, Pitt, Bama race. Recently, Ohio State was in the thick of it but rumors then circulated that the Buckeyes were no longer recruiting the number one wide receiver in the country. Many speculated on why that happened, but that's not really my thing. Bottom line is, if true, Penn State's odds went from 25% to 33% for landing Foster. Robert Foster is an immense talent comparable to Derrick Williams from the 2005 class. When you watch his film, it's as though you know you're watching a future NFL player. It will be interesting to see if Penn State can stay in the running for his services.

How many more years will it be before the elite players that can play either, realize that LB is the safe and more rewarding option. The RB position in the NFL is turning to crap, and the avg. career is already short. I think the RB position in CFB is only marginally more valued than NFL, but it is still a glamor postion for the media/fans/players. Some steady RB's behind a good OL is all that is needed.
