No nicknames until they can prove they can hold onto the ball when presented with a scoring opportunity.
I still mad.

I agree..
I think someone needs to come up with a nickname for Robert Foster(or at least the WR Corp), because I think the kid is going to shine this year.

Notre Dame Box a quicker or trickier version for D to deal with based off the single wing. Have Drake line up as the wing back, especially dangerous on the reverse. Have Yeldon as the tailback and Henry play FB and go through the line and would hit full stride by the time he crossed the LOS. Probably Vogler at one TE and either Ball or Howard at the other based on who blacks better or play Fowler out there to block.
ND Box
Single Wing
This is one Nevada was trying. So we would play Yeldon, Drake, Henry, and Fowler on one side with Cooper or even Howard off the other.
I doubt Saban would ever attempt one of these but when you got the weapons we do imagine the DC if he saw us line up in one of these in our 1st play.

If Cam Sims doesn't redshirt, we should use this in the redzone:
OJ Howard, Robert Foster, Cam Sims, and Raheem Falkins wide/in the slot. Kenyan Drake in the backfield.
Automatic TD

What time does the scrimmage start today?

A buddy of mine made a really good point about the fumbling and Saban. He said that T.J. will fumble in the most crucial times of a game and still gets the pill the very next offensive series, but if Drake fumbles he may not see the field for the rest of the game. He said that he thinks that Saban doesn't like Drake but won't cut him because unlike other players he has let go, letting Drake go will definitely come back to haunt him because he will be picked up by another SEC team and likely start from day 1. I had to agree with him

Yeldon better not fumble in the first game or all of my awful memories of last year will come surging back and overload me with frickKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!

Luckily we have a buffer between the two in Henry. I think he will actually hold onto the ball

In regards to fumbling: I always feared that Yeldon might be prone to fumbling issues because of his height and upright running style. When watching him, I don't notice him being careless with the ball. He just presents a greater target for defenders to get to the ball.
Drake also has an upright running style and seems to trade explosiveness for ball security. He gets praised for his first step and change of direction, which he should be. But watch him run. Lots of arm pump and letting his ball arm away from his body in cuts.
Drake also had about the same amount of fumbles in half the carries.

Of note for Alabama's scrimmage: NG Ivory with second unit, DE Reed with third. Leon Brown dressed, but likely won't play.

That's absurd. Saban has nothing personal against Drake-- like someone else said, Drake's fumbles/carry is twice Yeldon's.

Yeldon fumbles in the most crucial times of the game. Texas A&M 2012, LSU 2012, Oklahoma 2014, etc. He will keep Yeldon in the game, but will pull Drake and that is why Yeldon has more carries

Just like I said in 2011, that Lacy was better than TR3 or Ingram. Drake is a better running back than T.J. he has that unteachable instinct to get to open space, T.J. doesn't.
He just needs to grip the ball in trafick.

I don't understand your point-- you're just stating the obvious. Yeldon has more carries because Saban keeps him in, yes. You seem to be ignoring that Drake's fumbles per carry is almost twice Yeldon's. Have you considered that it's Yeldon who fumbles at crucial times because Saban feels he can't trust Drake as much as Yeldon to carry it at crucial times due to him fumbling more per carry?

From post scrimmage presser:
quote:
Saban: The team covered a lot of good situations today. Players had some improvement-- but Saban hoped some would've made more improvement.
Saban: There was never a rhythm offensively.
Saban: We were a tired team out there today. It's important to have these next two days off.
Saban: Specialists were good-- Adam Griffith was 5 of 5.
