His problem is he takes too long to throw the ball. It's somewhat between the ears but even from a physical standpoint he has a really slow throwing motion. He has to crow hop his deep balls and they usually miss anyways. Tua just flicks his wrist

Ross and Waddle are expected to come.

And btw Mike Farrel doesn’t think Bama leads for anybody.

There was no way Ross was coming if Hurts was gonna be the starter again. Hell, our current receivers hated having him back there and for good reason. Imagine how Ridley felt running his route yet knowing he wasn't gonna get the ball even if he got open. It is amazing that Nick Saban and a good portion of our fans were ok with 100 yard passing days or even thinking it was good play at all. Hopefully Ross sees the light because we need that size on the field.

I think the staff probably had more to do with the recruiting "dip" (also Kirby hitting the GA recruits hard) and a myriad of other reasons. I'm sure the lack of an impressive passing offense hurt us with some receivers but you don't change your MO just to get a recruit. Ball control, stifling D, national championships. Seems to have worked out well for a few receivers over the years as well.

Well said. I don't think it's simply between the ears either. Tua is the superior passer and as much as I like Hurts and appreciate the class he showed in the championship, I don't think you can simply say "ok, we are going back up Hurts now." Our WRs are young and talented, we should be taking advantage of that.

I assume the offseason will officially be an "open competition" - but thats what i've felt all along so i'm not sure. If Tua gets the mental aspects down, makes good decisions throwing the ball (dumping down to the open man and letting him run, avoiding throwing it up deep into coverage when he doesn't need to and generally avoiding trying to do to much) I really don't see Hurts winning the job.

Tua certainly put gave himself a great opening audition a few weeks ago and it will be interesting to see where he is after a whole offseason of development.

Dude we fricking get it. You think Hurts is shite, and always has been, even when we played well. You clearly think that you had a better grip on the situation than fricking Nick Saban. In predictable fashion, you will hang Daboll's comments over Saban's head in your reply to this.

How about making posts with more substance than just "hurts sucks." Pat yourself on the back and move the frick on.

Once again funky you can go frick yourself. This thread was started for this kind of talk and if you can't read it without getting butthurt then get the frick out of the thread. You can't tell any poster here what they are allowed to say so kindly frick off.

Edited to add that you don't know shite about football. You defended his shitty play all year just because we were winning even though it was in spite of his play. You defended him in the championship game even though we were getting beat because of him. You are either the biggest sunshine pumper around or you are dumb as frick. Probably a little of both.

Pretty much nailed it. I've never seen such loathing and hate towards a kid and it's gotten even more pathetic even after the point was made .

I'm not saying you have to do anything, but I am pointing out that constantly bitching about Hurts even after he was benched makes you look like a whiny bitch.

The truth hurts funky but if you don't like to read it then get out of the thread you ignorant mother fricker. You defended him during the championship game even though we were losing because of him. You don't know shite about football and there has been Hurts bashing all through this thread yet you single me out. Again, frick you funky. Twice. You are one stupid little man.

I defended him when you and others would bitch about him even when he was playing well. It was stupid. When he actually started realy struggling to the point where we weren't putting points on the board, I fairly criticized him .

Oh really? Care to provide proof? I'll wait. I'm sure you won't admit that you are wrong about that, but that's okay.

I admit to being somewhat of a sunshine pumper, but at least I'm not a crotchety old bitch that can't even give credit to a player when he does good things, but instead chooses to constantly whine about the shortcomings.

like I give a shite what you think about my knowledge of football.

Also Funky, I was just posting on topic and we were discussing the recruitment of Ross and quarterback play is apart of it. You had no right to jump in and belittle me because I said something about your man crush. Read the whole thread and figure out what it is here for. We keep it all here so the rest of the board doesn't get cluttered with it.

Most are pretty tactful and respectful about it. You aren't.

All I said was that our receivers were not happy with Hurts and that it was amazing that the staff and fans were ok with 100 yard passing performances. That didn't deserve you chewing my arse out Funky. I apologize for calling you a name but this thread was created for a reason and my post you criticized was civil. Read it again bro. You were in the wrong this time. I have crossed the line in the past but this one didn't.

Ok I apologise too, the actual post I responded to was pretty mild. It's kind of a culmination of your posts.

I will drop it. I have enjoyed reading this theead for the most part. Let's be friends. I'm burying the hatchet.

I think people get irate when the "qb competition" phrase comes up, as though Jalen could ever complete with Tua in a fair competition.

That's what triggers people. It's ludicrous. Ain't gonna be a real competition. Not really. And those who actually expect one are silly people.
