There is no way in hell he was fired over the record. They went 8-9. He went 8-9 4 years ago. The past 7 years outside of that has been 10-6, 14-2, 11-5, 10-7, 13-4, 12-5. Read where it might have been the old, "your coordinator needs to go, or you go", situation.

or it just got stale with the Organization. there was never any evidence the last few years to take the next step - it was like they were running in 2nd gear, and content to not shift into 3rd. I see the same with the Steelers and Tomlin
