Now that he has his Heisman Trophy back, Reggie Bush filed a lawsuit on Monday against his alma mater, the Pac-12 and the NCAA, seeking lost name, image and likeness compensation...
quote:

Bush's legal team said in a statement to multiple media outlets that all three institutions benefited from the work he put in on the field during his time as a Trojan in the early 2000s. They identified television contracts, merchandise sales and media rights agreements that they said coincided with the Heisman Trophy winner's legendary career.

"This case is not just about seeking justice for Reggie Bush," attorney Evan Selik said. "It's about setting a precedent for the fair treatment of all college athletes. Our goal is to rectify this injustice and pave the way for a system where athletes are rightfully recognized, compensated and treated fairly for their contributions."
...
The lawsuit filed by the 39-year-old is similar to one that former NC State men's basketball team members hit the NCAA with back in June -- after they claimed the org. is continuing to profit off their 1983 successes.

I agree with this because USC and NCAA kept showing video clips and career stats of RB even before he got his trophy back. They benefited long term and he missed out on commercial deals, like the Allstate Heisman commercial… and others.

Plus, retroactive doesn't change shite. If I got a speeding ticket in 2008 for going 72 on I-49, but it got raised to 75. I can't go back and get my speeding ticket cost back. This is stupid as shite, and NCAA will give in as to not seem "racist".

Speed limit was 70 in 2008, and raised to 75 later in Louisiana.

Better example would be student loan debt forgiveness. My wife and I paid all of ours back, now it's getting forgiven left and right... I don't see my payments being refunded.

Bush earned $60 mil in his career. Jesus, dude doesn't need to sue anyone. Bad look. Maybe he's running out of money. Seems more like greed to me. Sue them for a penny, but make them admit you're wrong. Don't do it for money when you have plenty.
