Duke's Zion Williamson Put On 100 Pounds Over Two Years In High School?
© Rob Kinnan-USA TODAY Sports
Duke freshman Zion Williamson is a beast and will continue to beast out when he gets to the NBA most likely next year. He shared with GQ the crazy growth spurt he went through in high school...
quote:

“I didn’t pick up all this weight until junior year. Freshman year, I was small. I was 6’3?, 175—like, I was small. And over the course of about two years I picked up a hundred pounds. I mean, I wouldn’t look at myself and go, ‘Wow, I’m 250!’ I wouldn’t know I was 250 until I stepped on the scale, and then I’m like, ‘Oh. I’m 250? I don’t feel 250. I don’t feel slow.’ Like, with all that weight just came more athleticism and finding myself able to do new things. People always say you have to grow into your body, but for me, it wasn’t even growing into my body—the more weight came, it didn’t phase me. It made me faster, stronger. It helped me become a more versatile player.”
His game now looks like this: 22.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting 68.3 percent from the field. Growth spurt away, buddy.

He says he gained 100 lbs. He was 175 lbs and now is at 250 lbs. Math must not be his strong suit.

He weighs 275. He was describing the feeling as he was gaining weight, not his current weight. Reading comprehension must not be your strong suit.

Should have been wearing Nike Monarchs last night. The blowout never would have happened.

The NCAA MBB should adopt the rule that NCAA baseball has. Sign with a 4 year institution you must stay for 3 years. If you want to be a 1and done go to Juco.

Yet is forced to play a year for free. NCAA sports is the most unamerican thing going in our country today.

Forced to play by the NBA. They made the rule, not the NCAA.

Free.....pffffft. The tuition to attend Duke is approximately $70,000 a year. That’s real money no matter how you slice it. This kid is using the University as much as they are using him.

No one is forcing him to play for free. There are plenty of pay options for a kid with talent.
