So has the NFL with the way they protect QB's and WR's. The hey day of the NBA was the Jordan Bulls and Bad Boy Pistons when physical play and defense won titles.

Get rid of free throws until the last 5 minutes of the game. A shooting foul is 1 point and the offense and side out. Anything foul over the max is 1 point and side out. A bucket plus a foul is 3 points and the other team inbounds.
