Basketball was just more fun to watch then. Or I'm just an old fart now and am tired or watching pick and rolls.

Monster Mash could light up the three ball himself, but there was only one Larry Bird.

Any story involving Rodney Rogers is going to be good.

Love to hear those Larry Bird stories... One of the ultimate trash talkers in sport but more importantly could back it up.. he did the same thing when the Celtics played the Hawks in New Orleans when he scored at will and told all the hot players let shot was coming next.. Larry legend!!

Curious as to why Celtics and Hawks were playing in NOLA

The Hawks played a few games a year in NOLA in the 80's. Bird scored 60 vs. ATL in one of the NOLA games. Was in school at LSU at the time, and in hindsight don't know why we didn't go down to NOLA for that one. Of course no web back then so couldn't check schedules online ahead of time. We might not have known until after the game LOL.
