They won two because Jordan decided to let them. That is the only story that relates to the Rockets those two years.

Coming from the same dude that thought he would get free beer for life simply because Budweiser sponsored the Player of the Game award.... Checks out. Vernon Maxwell ? @VernonMaxwell11 I seriously thought if I got the Budweiser player of the game it meant free beer for life. I was devastated to find out it wasn’t true.
