Mike Leach Shares His Honest Thoughts On NCAA Transfer Portal
© Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
It's been a few months since we've had the honor of hearing one of Mike Leach's take on anything football or non-football related. On Wednesday, the Mississippi State head coach spoke out about the NCAA transfer rule at SEC Media Days...
quote:

“There are way too many people in there. There’s a point to where there’s a huge value later on of persevering through adverse situations,” Leach said, via the Clarion-Ledger. “College football deliberately creates adversity because it’s a competitive situation.”

Although he’s not wrong, he overlooks that the transfer portal is absolutely another way to overcome adversity. Joe Burrow says hi.

@ Willie. Joe had already graduated from Ohio State. His situation is different than a freshman who leaves.

Ease of transfers and sponsor money will definitely change college sports. Would be interesting to hear Leach's opinion on utx/ou looking into moving into the sec.
