Philadelphia Eagles backup QB Gardner Minshew spoke from the heart as he addressed the crowd at college football legend Mike Leach's memorial service on Tuesday. The former Washington State star expressed how much Leach meant to him...
quote:

"He touched so many lives, impacted so many people," Minshew said. "I know how much he impacted mine and I was really just with him for about six months."

"To say playing for Mike Leach ... that was a dream really doesn't cover it. He was my favorite coach long before I ever met him."

"He had confidence -- it was part confidence, part just really not giving a f*** what people thought," Minshew said.

“He was the first person I’ve ever been around who, just by the way he lived and how authentic he was, brings that out in the people around him,” Minshew said, via Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “I never found myself more comfortable with myself than when I was with coach Leach. The way he believed in me — that belief, that’s something that really resonates, and that’s something I tell any parent, coach, teacher. The best thing you can do for a kid is believe in him. And he did that for me, and it changed my life.”

"not really giving a damn what people thought" would have been sufficient, no need for the F bomb in this setting.

We found the boomer.

No, ironically, we found the juvenile.

I didn't think that Minshew was particularly articulate or inspiring. And way too many "you knows".

I'm going to miss Mike Leach with his signature deadpan deliveries. [rimshot] Smooth sailing to the Pirate.

Balls out. Leach didn’t give a frick despite the feeling he hurt only because of impropriety and social acceptance of language vs people he probably liked but slightly disagreed with. Fit tribute to a fricking swashbuckling pirate!

As a Christian, I can think of no worse song to play at a funeral. "My Way"...just kind of makes your spirit shudder.

Jesus broke down social norms. That’s no different than how Leach lived his life. Besides, a secular memorial service is not equal to a funeral of any kind.

“I read the entire Old Testament and New Testament [four times]. I’m on my fifth,” Leach told USA Today.

As a Christian, you're doing a great job of being a judgmental cocksucker.
