LSU sophomore guard Jada Richard has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal in a surprising move that adds to the Tigers’ growing offseason roster turnover.

The Opelousas native emerged as LSU’s starting point guard during the 2025–26 season, starting nearly every game while averaging 9.5 points, 3.3 assists, and over 26 minutes per contest.

Head coach Kim Mulkey relied heavily on Richard as a steady presence on both ends of the floor, making her decision particularly notable as she was projected to be a key returner for next season.

Richard joins Bella Hines, Divine Bourrage, and Kailyn Gilbert in the portal.

Considering that Jada would be a returning starter who did well this season, there's possibly something we're not privy to.

Get a true PG who is a play maker not just a ball handler.

NIL, NIL, NIL. Mulkey is the Queen and worth every penny she is paid. Who puts up NIL? We do. The supporters of the programs. If you are putting up NIL, complain. Otherwise, …………!

It’s the money. They are chasing after more money from a less popular school cause the CBA for the WNBA locks them into a legit contract when they get there. So basically, they are going to field the offers they are getting and probably transfer to schools that are mid level

I personally don’t think she was a point guard that could generate her own shot or make something happen on her own. I think she was overrated.

I hate she is thinking about transferring. She was good and getting better but she was not great. She can be replaced with a more physical point guard and one that will give up the ball ( to McKayla) when the best shooter wants the ball.

Thanks for your 2 years to the program, but we need ballers who want to be here and be a part of “showtime” and will get us back to the Final 4 and beyond

Damn, this is shocking to me. Mulkey gave her a chance over what's her name from SC, and this is how she repays her? The money will run out, the title is forever.

Let her go! Free up money for transfers…..exposed herself for lack of loyalty and maybe seeking more money!!!

I watched the full interview with the LSU AD - Verge. I'm not sure that the wbb team receives much money to free up. The program runs an annual deficit.

I never thought she was that good anyway...she never passed the ball early on and would miss easy shots.
