Many LSU fans were left scratching their heads on Wednesday after new LSU president Wade Rousse commented on the status of interim athletic director Verge Ausberry.
It was reported on Tuesday that Ausberry would be elevated to full-time athletic director, but Rousse didn't overwhelmingly support that idea when he was asked about it:

“I'll remove the interim [title] and then we'll assess the situation," Rousse said to reporter Piper Hutchinson. "I can't make a very good decision after being on that on the job for eight hours…”
“I don’t know what permanent means versus removing the interim.”
“It was important for me to show stability,” Rousse said. “Verge has done a good job up until this point. I really need to dig deeper in terms of what we look like, to make sure we protect that global brand.”
