The big topic at the SEC Spring Meetings in Destin this week is the debate between moving from an eight-game conference schedule to nine games.

LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward appeared on Tuesday's Paul Finebaum show and shared his support for the nine-game option, which Tigers head coach Brian Kelly also supports.

ESPN wants the revenue but not to give back to the SEC. Some teams want an extra citadel on the schedule because 6 wins is a big deal for them. I can’t say I blame them. The sec just needs to sit tight until 2025.

But BK also said...don't give ESPN any more games without them paying for it, a new contract. Keep it as is until Disney/ESPN get their finances in order to pony up more money for the 9 games.

As long as the divisions or pods or whatever are aligned geographically, it will be unbiased. Anything else and someone is getting an advantage and someone is getting a disadvantage.

There will be no pods or divisions, just one big SEC.

Sad that this is even a discussion given what other leagues have done.

I support 9 games, but what other leagues do should have bearing on what the SEC decides to do.
