Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports is reporting that LSU is working on retaining sophomore running back Caden Durham, who is currently in the transfer portal.

Durham, a sophomore from Oklahoma City, Okla., missed just two games over the last two seasons in Baton Rouge. He had a breakout freshman year last season, rushing for 753 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 5.4 yards per carry, while dealing with a foot injury.

Durham rushed for 505 yards and three touchdowns this past season and shared carries with freshman Harlem Berry, who already plans to be back next season.

I dont know why he would leave. I can see him getting as many reps as Harlem Berry on gameday. The Pro potential is still there in Baton Rouge, unless he is chasing money.

I hope he returns for next season. Not because of the numbers but I really like him. With a new offensive line and good coaching, maybe he can get better blocking and find opportunities to gain yards. Kiffen hopefully can get him back
