LSU coach Les Miles joined the Paul Finebaum show on Thursday and spoke about a variety of topics including his trip to Cuba, the hiring of Dave Aranda and the season opener against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field.

Miles was also asked about running back Leonard Fournette who he says needs to shed a few pounds before practice starts up again. Per NOLA.com:

"Leonard was 235 to 233 or so during spring; we want him right around 225 so his strength and speed are maximized," Miles said. "He's an elite guy and he wants to be an elite body as he goes into fall. Certainly this summer will provide him with that opportunity.

"He's a great teammate, unselfish. He wants for the team. He has great leadership. I think he's going to have a great year. He's poised to be better than he was last year."

He will be down to his play weight once the season rolls around. Let him enjoy his offseason for a while

elite athletes burn many thousand calories per day...adding or shedding ten pounds doesn't even require much thought for them.

Coaches should also be in peak shape. Studies show that the brain functions better when the body is fit. Thump me down if you agree.

Let that boy bulk and have fun. No shot on Magee but his weight won't affect him come fall like it did Magee. 6'1 235 is still lean to fournette
