True freshman quarterback TJ Finley made his LSU debut on Saturday night vs. South Carolina and lead the Tigers to a 52-24 win vs. the Gamecocks.
Finley completed 17-of-21 passes for 265 yards and two touchdowns, stepping in for Myles Brennan who is out with an injury.
After the game, head coach Ed Orgeron was asked if there was any quarterback controversy due to Finley's impressive showing.

"It might be on y'alls part," Orgeron said. "I mean, everybody's just yearning for it, I can feel it. It ain't gonna be on our part, I can tell you that. Myles is our starting quarterback. TJ has done a great job. I don't know when Myles is going to be ready but Myles is going to be our starting quarterback. But I know this, if Myles is not doing well, I can put in TJ and feel good about."
