College Football Playoff Predictions After Week 8

College Football Insider Brett McMurphy of Action Network updated his Bowl projections and playoff predictions following the Week 8 slate.

McMurphy thinks four SEC teams will make the 12-team playoff, with LSU as the No. 9 seed. LSU's first-round matchup would be against No. 8 Clemson at Memorial Stadium.

10. Texas A&M

12. Army*

*Conference champions projected to receive automatic bids

Dec. 20 • Clemson, SC
LSU vs. Clemson

The first set of CFP rankings will come out on Tuesday, November 5.

Obviously a lot can change, but would hate playing at Clemson when we’re scheduled to kick off next season there

That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. The order matters because it’s seeded. So how is it that LSU is ahead of Texas A&M, Texas is ahead of A&M, AND A&M is in the playoffs at all? If they lose both those games, A&M is not making the playoffs as a 10 seed at 9-3. If they win either of those games, then the loser has two losses and shouldn’t be seeded ahead of them.

Its possible that this is just their best 12 teams right now rather than the best 12 teams at the end of the regular season & Conf CGs.

A&M doesn't really have a good win. Missou isn't talented. They don't have the recruiting. Ole Miss is a good win. Beating South Carolina on the road is a better win than Missou at home. No reason for TAMU to be in this.
