LSU defensive line coach Dennis Johnson made his way over to Houston, TX on Thursday night to visit with four-star strong-side defensive end Marcus Stripling.

Stripling, 6'5, 240-pound prospect from Mayde Creek HS recently announced that LSU is one of his final four schools, along with Alabama, Texas A&M and Oklahoma. He is rated the No. 8 overall strongside defensive end in the country for the class of 2019, according to Rivals.

I sat with Marcus in the airport in Dallas this summer and had a long conversation with him. He was coming back from a Nike camp at Cowboys practice facility in Frisco. We were waiting on our flight back to Houston. He seemed VERY focused on A&M, but I did my best to try and sell LSU to him. He was a terrific young man, who was very well mannered and was easy to converse with. I hope we can talk him into LSU. He is the kind of young man we would love to have as a Tiger!
