"So proud of Jakori and his decision to commit to LSU," McDaniel said. "This is an offer that he has said he wanted from the very beginning of the process. We are extremely excited about Jakori's future as well as the rest of our kids."
McDaniel told AL.com on Monday that Savage would likely be a redshirt candidate as a freshman in order to add weight.
"I've told every college coach that comes through here that if Jakori ends up in the right spot, he will be a draft pick in five years," McDaniel said.
