Former Oregon tight end Zach Grace announced his commitment to LSU on Thursday evening while visiting Baton Rouge.

Grace, a 6-3, 238-pounder from Kearney, Mo., just wrapped up his redshirt sophomore season with the Ducks, appearing in 14 games. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at LSU.

Grace is the second tight end to commit to LSU out of the portal, along with Malachi Thomas from Pitt. Grace also lined up in the backfield as a fullback during his time at Oregon.

Here's a look at LSU's new tight ends room:

-Trey’Dez Green
-JD Lafleur
-Malachi Thomas (Transfer from Pitt)
-Zach Grace (Transfer from Oregon)
-JC Anderson (HS Signee)

I don’t think I saw LSU in the “I” a single time this year. I miss it

He never played as a true freshman either to save his redshirt.

Yeah he never caught a pass in 3 years at Oregon. He’s a great blocker in short yardage situations. Welcome young man. Geaux tigers

Would love to see this youngster lead the blocking for our RBs.

Strong kid, tenacious blocker. Love the addition. Good mix in Coach Cox room.

If he is a good blocker, the TE from Pitt is huge and has potential to be a great blocker as well. I love the TE room. Some tall WR types and some stout blocking types. Great mix in there.

I read that he was very effective as a lead blocker/FB type player as well as a TE.
