It was announced Wednesday that LSU will participate in the 2022 Cayman Island Classic on Nov. 21-23.

Other teams playing in the event include Kansas State, Nevada, Akron, Illinois State, Tulane, Rhode Island, and Western Kentucky.

GEORGE TOWN, GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS — Tournament officials have announced the field for the 2022 Cayman Islands Classic men’s college basketball tournament. The fourth edition of the event will tip-off Nov. 21-23 at The John Gray Gymnasium, just minutes away from world famous Seven Mile Beach.
Akron, Illinois State, Kansas State, LSU, Nevada, Rhode Island, Tulane and Western Kentucky will compete in the tournament announced by Caymax Sports Ltd.

"The Cayman Islands is very proud to be the host destination for this very important tournament and we look forward to welcoming the visiting teams and all of the college basketball fans to our shores once again," said the Honorable Kenneth Bryan, Minister of Tourism for the Cayman Islands. "Tournaments such as this are an integral part of our Islands' sports tourism objectives and have a proven economic impact on countries that host them. I know that the fans will enjoy the basketball action on the court as well as the wonderful hospitality of our people and the beauty of our Islands."

Agreed. LSU and Akron have the best records of that group, followed by RI and WKU. The rest all have losing records, and only LSU and KSU have wins against ranked opponents.

Hope the Cayman Islands dropped their lockdown. They are near 100% lockdown for outsiders.
