LSU's Season Comes To An End With 86-78 Loss To Michigan In The NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- LSU's Cameron Thomas and Javonte Smart combined for 57 points in the NCAA Second Round, but it wasn't enough to hold off top-seeded Michigan, 86-78, on Monday night in Lucas Oil Stadium.

No. 8-seeded LSU (19-10) led by as many as nine in the first half and six early in the second half before succumbing to the Wolverines.

Michigan (22-4), which led 43-42 at halftime, made 53.8 percent of its field goals, gained its largest lead midway through the second half and pulled away to advance to the Sweet 16.

Let Wade recruit and bring in top assistant coaches. ISO basketball and no defense can only get you so far.

I’m not sure that it was coaching errors in the game. This years Tiger team just didn’t have very much off the bench. I don’t care what type of offense the staff puts in.....when it’s tournament time and you’re playing without much rest and you can’t get 10 points from your bench, well the fatigue plays a LARGE role. Was proud of the way they responded defensively during the SEC tourney and the way they made rebounding the ball a point of emphasis after the Bama loss.
