Per LSUSports.net: BATON ROUGE, La.— The No. 5 South Carolina Gamecocks used a four-run seventh inning to take the first tilt of the Saturday doubleheader, 4-2, inside Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.

AJ Labas fired 6.1 shutout innings before being relieved in the seventh inning. He gave two runs on five hits and struck out four Gamecock batters.

The second game of the doubleheader will begin at 2:30 p.m. CT. It will be streamed on the SEC Network+ and be carried on the LSU Sports Radio Network affiliates.

Does Tigerdroppings have its own baseball poll or something? Because South Carolina isn’t #5 on the reputable polls. Might as well just start listing everyone we play as #1 if we’re going to stretch the truth this much

Should’ve pulled Labas after giving up the first hit in the 7th. And, definitely, should’ve yanked him after the second consecutive hit to open the frame. I understand leaving him in there because you want him to get a CG, but we HAD to win that series.

This team does not deserve a regional anywhere. Not a 4 seed, they need to work on off season hitting and fundamentals
