Multiple sources are reporting Paul Mainieri is adding Tulane assistant Eddie Smith to the coaching staff as new hitting coach, replacing Sean Ochinko who is no longer with the program.

Smith has served as hitting coach, third base coach, and recruiting coordinator with the Green Wave for the past three seasons.

I do not know much about the new hitting coach but this move needed to happen. We cannot be a program where people cut their teeth.
