Syracuse officially announced the hiring of Georgia defensive back coach Fran Brown to be the team's new head coach.
The 40-year-old coach from Camden, New Jersey, has been the Bulldogs cornerback coach for the last two seasons and is one of the top recruiters on Georgia's staff.
Brown was hired in 2021 after coaching defensive backs at Rutgers, Temple, and Baylor.
It is unknown whether Brown will remain on staff through the end of the season, but either way, this will be Kirby Smart's fifth time hiring a new defensive back coach.
