There has been a lot of speculation this week as to whether or not Georgia backup quarterback Justin Fields will be transferring out of the program to find more playing time at another school.
On Wednesday, head coach Kirby Smart commented on Fields situation and said that the freshman will play in the Sugar Bowl vs. Texas on Jan. 1. Per DawgNation:
Georgia was able to flip four-star dual-threat quarterback Dwan Mathis from Ohio State to Georgia on Wednesday.

quote:If Fields does decide to transfer, potential landing spots could be Ohio State, UCLA, Oklahoma, and UCF according to Dawg Nation.
“He decided he wanted to play in the Sugar Bowl, and I told him ‘absolutely, we want you there,’ ” Smart said Wednesday night. “Justin is working extremely hard, he’s in the meeting rooms, he’s still rolling with our twos. I’m pleased with his work and demeanor, he has had good reps.” Smart said
Georgia would like for Fields to stay, but there’s a reality to him entering his name into the NCAA portal, which enables him to have contact with other schools.
“I don’t think there’s anything you can do (to convince him to stay),” Smart said. “We’ve been very open and honest that we would like him to stay. He’s worked really hard. He competed his tail off throughout the year and played a team role throughout the year.”

Rumor has it he's going to use the "muh racism" card as an attempt to get eligibility. I hope no one touches him with a 10 foot pole if he tries this angle. Losing the starting job and crying racism is a bitch move.

we're all tired of the racism card. One (one) idiot fan called Fields a bad name, and that guy was dealt with. This whole thing really lessens my respect for Fields.

Wish he'd stay because the SEC needs more exciting quarterbacks like Fields and Tua. But he's unlikely to pass Fromm without a serious injury or a total regression involved.

Love him playing vs texas. I hope they give him half the snaps and run nothing but read option plays. Lets put his "immense talents" on display for the country as he heads out the door lol
