Talented four-star athlete Malcolm Askew from McCalla, AL (McAdory HS) committed to Auburn this weekend during the Tigers' Big Cat recruiting event, according to AL.com.

He chose Auburn over Alabama, Clemson, TCU and Ole Miss.
quote:

"All the coaches ran up and tackled me," Askew said of the moment late Saturday afternoon. "It was crazy. It was a great feeling. They came and just bombarded me. I didn't even finish what I had to say. Everybody knew what was happening."

Askew is rated the No. 10 athlete in the country and the No. 11 overall player from the state of Alabama for 2017, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Auburn now has seven verbal commitments for the class of 2017, with the addition of Askew.

Love these loser comments. Let the kid enjoy his moment. He is excited about his choice. We can decide in 4 years if it was the right one.
