Breaking: Auburn Head Coach Bruce Pearl Is Expected To Retire

It was reported on Monday afternoon that Auburn men's basketball head coach Bruce Pearl is expected to retire after 11 seasons with the program.

Pearl's son, Steven, is expected to take over as head coach for the upcoming season.

Pearl transformed Auburn basketball into a nationally respected program since arriving in 2014. He guided the Tigers to their first-ever Final Four in 2019, a historic run that included wins over powerhouse programs like Kansas, North Carolina, and Kentucky.

Under Pearl, Auburn has consistently been competitive in the SEC, winning the conference tournament in 2019 and capturing the regular-season championship in 2022, when the team also earned its first No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll.

Pearl's record at Auburn is 246–125 (.663), and his overall head coaching career record is 477–224 (.680).

Pearl has coached for four programs over the last 30 seasons: Auburn (11 seasons), Tennessee (6 seasons), Milwaukee (4 seasons), and Southern Indiana (9 seasons).
