It was announced this week that Michigan will have to cancel is future home-and-home series with Arkansas and pay the Razorbacks $2 million in order to for the Wolverines to renew its rivalry with Notre Dame.

Arkansas AD Jeff Long, who was not happy about the series cancellations, voiced his displeasure about the decision.

But...but...but.....it's ALWAYS the SEC who DOESN'T want to play anybody. *ROTFLMAO*

I knew this would eventually happen. There's a good reason why we've only played Michigan in a bowl game.

A few yrs back Ohio State backed out of one with Tennessee that was supposed to be coming up soon. Big 10 can't take chances to have the SEC beat them.

I am certain that Michigan looks at Notre Dame as more important to their scheduling than they do Arkansas. Michigan was uoset when ND dropped them from their schedule a few years ago as they had been playing for many years. Regarding being "nationally respected" I think ND trumps Arkansas there as well. Arkansas is looked at as an "also ran" program and is not looked upon as highly as they think they are. If you compared the Hogs with teams from the BIG the teams they would compare to based on results are Indiana, Purdue, Rutgers, and Maryland. That may sting but it is true.

Indiana and Purdue? Shiny hook you got there. Realistically, we're more like Wisconsin and Michigan State (historically, not recently).

If Harbaugh would rather run the risk of losing to a "nationally respected" team from ND than to an "also ran" AR team. Good chance he could lose to either, but from the perspective of the typical college football fan, a Michigan loss to ND would be more tolerable than a loss to AR.

Can u imagine if anyone at Bama had made this comment. Further proof the attention whore harbaugh just tries to attach himself to Bama. Not to mention bielemas comment about harbaugh taking the money from this game and having a camp in cabo. Had nick said that harbaugh would have blown twitter up. I used to respect michigan. Used to.

"Further proof the attention whore harbaugh just tries to attach himself to Bama." How in THE HELL does anything in this article have anything to do with Bama? I tend to hate the term "bamasessed" but this is full on Bama stalker.

I think the Nation would rather see ND vs Mich over Mich vs Arkansas.
