ESPN College Football reporter Chris Low spoke with Alabama head coach Nick Saban on Tuesday who said he has still not decided whether Jalen Hurts or Tua Tagovailoa will start at quarterback in the season opener.
quote:

"Both guys [Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa] are playing pretty well, so we'll just keep going and see if anybody separates," Saban told ESPN on Tuesday.

Saban said it's possible that both quarterbacks could play in the first game.

"There could be a role for both of them, but there's been no decision made either way," Saban said. "Just like every position, there's good competition at quarterback, and nobody's backing away from that competition. As much as anybody, the other kids on the team will let us know which one of those guys gives us the best chance to win. The good thing is that we've won with both."
Who do you think will start at QB week 1?

He never announces who the starter will be. For any position. He doesn't publicly release his depth chart. Never has. He knows tho. Hurts going to a high school game last night in Pelham was kind of a telling situation. Right now is lots of film study, lots of teammate interaction, getting rest, drilling down the game plan. Tua wasn't in alabaster watching his little brother....who by the way, threw for 300 yards....in the first half.
