The University of Alabama announced Monday that head coach Nick Saban has received a contract extension that will take him through the 2028 season. Per ESPN:

Saban is set to make $8.425 million this coming season, and his new deal will include annual increases in salary in addition to completion bonuses, taking his average annual salary to the $10 million range over the life of the contract, sources told ESPN.

Saban, entering his 15th season at Alabama, has won three of the last six national titles. He also won a national title at LSU in 2003. His seven national titles are the most in college football history. Saban has won 11 or more games in each of the last 10 seasons and has a record of 170-23 at Alabama.

Saban’s going to be like the Bear……he’ll coach forever and just die within a year of retirement….football means that much to him. There isn’t another one out there like him.
