Here's How Nick Saban SUsed His Championship Rings To Steal An Auburn Recruit
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
He may not look like he enjoys all those championship rings he takes home, but he sure knows how to use them. Here's how Alabama head coach Nick Saban stole Auburn 4-star recruit Demouy Kennedy, per al.com...
quote:

On Wednesday, he shared the biggest impression Nick Saban left on him, while discussing how Auburn coach Gus Malzahn took the news of his decommitment.

…..

Perhaps even more memorable was Saban’s pitch to Kennedy during his visit.

They were standing next to two tables, he said. One was clear of anything. The other had championship rings on it.
“I liked when he said, ‘Would you rather gamble on this table (pointing to the ring table) or the other table?’ I said, ‘I’m gambling on the ring table.’”

Sign with me son. If you're exceptional and we get no one better, at your position, you'll be around at least one more year. If not ..... well .....

was that empty table referring to Auburn or... LSU?

Wait. I thought if Bama had to steal them (especially from Auburn), they didn't need them.

If we lose to Bama again this year I may give up on LSU football.

Classic. If u go to auburn, they might get a season of unreal bounces or a once in a generation player and play for something. At Bama, you're going to compete for titles every year. Period. Sabans not lying.

He forgot to mention that Saban said he'll give him keys to a new charger if he signs.

he looks healthy. Besides, coaches coach. THat's what they do. Can you see Saban retiring to a rocking chair? He certainly isn't going into media either. He'll coach til he can't coach no more. Could be 10+ more years.

Meh, if this was true then we wouldn't lose Alabama Mr basketballs like Damarcus cousins, Eric Bledsoes and Antonio langs to the Kentucky's and dukes. They start at Bama day one and are main weapons. They play 5 minutes a game as freshmen at Kentucky and duke.

Kennedy didn’t decommit, he was open and said LSU was his leader. Great reporting.
