Four-Star LB Picks Alabama Over Auburn, Says The Tide Have Better Coaches

Alabama landed their 12 recruit for the class of 2017 on Friday when four-star linebacker Markail Benton pledged his verbal commitment to the Crimson Tide.

He chose Alabama over Auburn and said later said after his commitment that the Crimson Tide have better coaches then the Tigers. Per AL.com:

"When I took the visit to Alabama the last time I had a great time at the camp," Benton said. "They have great coaches, great facilities. You can't get better coaching at Alabama with Coach (Nick) Saban."

"Auburn's a great school, don't get me wrong," Benton said. "They have a great facility too, and it's like 30 minutes up the road so I would take a visit to Auburn every weekend. But I mean, Alabama's got better coaching."

Benton is from Phenix City, AL (Central HS).

On defense? I'm not sure this is in the least bit controversial. Any objective person would acknowledge that Bama's coaches always field one of the top defenses in the nation. His statement is just common sense, not an unforgivable insult to Auburn.
