Alabama backup QB David Cornwell announced Wednesday that he will transfer out of the program.

He is the third Alabama quarterback to transfer this season. Per AL.com:

Cornwell becomes the third Alabama quarterback who has elected to go elsewhere after true freshman Jalen Hurts was elevated to a starting role in Week 2 during September. Later that month, Blake Barnett withdrew from Alabama and enrolled in Palomar College in California before committing to Arizona State earlier this week.

Cornwell, who stands 6-5 and weighs 234 pounds, will be a graduate transfer with two years of remaining eligibility. Because of his status, he can play immediately at his next school and hopes to land somewhere where he will be a more significant contributor than he was at Alabama.

Another high rated player transferring to avoid a wasted career by signing with Bama. Before long they will start learning going the odds of a 5* at Bama has a lesser chance of making than than at another school.
