It's fun to see people pretend prepping for P4 opponents is the same as prepping for G5 or FCS opponents. So disingenuous. Or stupid. Definitely one of those.

Alabama should never think losing 3 conference games will get them in the playoffs. Ratings folks tend to look at the END of the season more than the start.

Getting drubbed by the poor Sooners in the penultimate game of the season eliminated them. Losing by 21 points and being total controlled by a 6 and 6 team is not the same as losing a close one to a top 20 team.
